How do I get to Gil’s Galavant Wallumbilla?
Gil’s Galavant Wallumbilla is located at “Treville Downs”, 1887 North Wallumbilla Road Wallumbilla Queensland. This property is located about a 15 minute drive out of Wallumbilla and about a 40 minute drive out of Roma. Please see the link to Google maps for further directions.

Yes. Upon arrival, you will be directed to the parking area.
Is there accommodation onsite?
No. As this event is held on a working cattle farm there is no onsite accommodation however camping is an option or sleeping in your marquee for those who are keen.
What facilities will be available for camping?
Camping is available for those who are looking for this option however it will be off the grid camping but at no extra cost. Portaloos will be provided and showers are available at the Wallumbilla showgrounds located 15 minutes away at Wallumbilla.
Where is the closest accommodation available?
The closest major hotel/motel options will be at Roma. Limited accommodation options exist at Wallumbilla. Free camping is available at the Wallumbilla showgrounds.
Where is the closest corner store?
The closest corner store will be at Wallumbilla which is about a 15 minute drive from “Treville Downs”. The store offers a great range of hot takeaway foods as well as convenience store supplies.
Will you have a photographer at the event?
Yes. A race photographer will attend our event and upload photos to our social media platforms as soon as practicable.
What is the recommended gear?
Participants will need to be as self-sufficient as possible. The following is a basic suggested list:
Reusable cup/flask for your liquids
- Water bottles or hydration pack
- Sunscreen
- Insect repellent
- Compression bandage
- Mobile phone
- Appropriate clothing for unexpected weather changes
What is the mandatory equipment?
A head torch for night loops. The loop will not be lit up entirely, and it gets dark out in the Queensland outback.
What facilities will be available at the aid station?
The aid station will include but not be limited to the following:
- Sunscreen
- Electrolytes
- Fruit
- Lollies
- Chips
- Noodles/Cup of soup
- Water
Am I limited to one marquee per registration?
Yes. In order to ensure that everyone has a fair amount of room and easy access to the starting corral it would be appreciated if all runners could limit themselves to one 3mx3m marquee per registration.
Will I be safe running at night in the country?
Yes of course. Whilst you will be running at night in outback Queensland, and it will be predominantly unlit you will never be too far away from others. The use of a mandatory head torch will ensure that you can easily find your way and avoid any obstacles. All technical areas will be highly visible.
What wildlife could I expect to encounter during the event?
As this event is held in the Queensland outback the usual wildlife that you may encounter could include kangaroos, wallabies, a variety of birds, echidnas, possums, horses, cows, reptiles and emus. Please see below snake bite fact sheet.

The general course loop will be slashed and cleared. At any points on the course that may cause confusion, cattle rails will be erected to ensure that all runners understand the direction that they are required to run.
Are crew and spectators allowed at this event?
Yes of course. Crew and spectators are definitely most welcome and are encouraged to attend this event. There will even be a couple of spots on the course that allows for spectators and crew to cheer on the runners.
Will I be required to sign an indemnity form?
Yes. All participants will be required to sign and accept an indemnity form at the time of registration. Please take the time to read the indemnity form to ensure your understanding of the document as it is a legal document.
Indemnity FormCan I get a refund if I am unable to attend?
Yes. A refund can be obtained at anytime up to 7 days prior to the event, however this request will incur a $30 administrative fee. At anytime you can transfer your entry to another person or defer it for a year at no extra cost.
